So anyway, Lucas lost Fire in my Uncle’s house last October 2, I remember the date because that’s the last time we were there and right before we were about to leave we couldn’t find Fire, so we left without it. Pacci disappeared got lost yesterday. You know what happened next. So tonight, B came home with the a new pair of pacifiers, it’s the same color and brand as before, green and blue, playtex. The only difference is that this time the shape was different, he has bought the orthodontic type of pacifier which had a nipple with a flat head and slim body, the old one was the ordinary type of pacifier with a nipple supposedly resembling that of a mother’s. I wasn’t sure Lucas was going to like it because the shape was different and he has already gotten used to the old style. So anyway, I opened it and showed Lucas the green one first, and he gave me kind of like a hey-you-found-it kind of look, and he gave me what looked like a mischievous smile. Then I showed him the blue one and said, “hey Lucas, remember this?”, and he sort of looked at it with a straight face and then raised his eyebrows and looked at me as if saying “it does look familiar”, then he reached out and took it from me. At first he didn’t put it into his mouth, he just kind of picked at it with his fingers, then he put it in his mouth and he let it fall to the floor, I think he was testing it. I think it will be a while before he gets accustomed to the new shape, I hope he likes it, otherwise B just wasted 300 pesos for it (that’s about $7).
Yes, we named the pacifiers. We have name for almost all stuff to our cellphones, courtesy of my daughter Chakai of course, who has a habit of naming things. She named Lucas’ pacifiers, since there’s 2, she thought it would be nice to name them, I don’t know why, I guess it’s a 6-year-old-girl thing. So, she named the green one Pacci and the blue one Fire, get it? Pacci-Fire.
