Athena: How She Improved My Skin

Athena

In Greek Mythology, Athena is known as the Goddess of Wisdom. So, it’s really a surprise why this brand of milk is named after her, when in fact, it’s much more suitable to name her after the Goddess of Love and Beauty, Aphrodite, because darn it, this milk truly helped me achieve a clearer skin.

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I don’t take multivitamins on the regular, the reason is too complicated to explain right now, but perhaps I’ll get into it sometime soon. So, for now, just know that I don’t take multivitamins everyday like most people do, so I rely getting my required dietary requirements from food and drinks that I take throughout the day.

Admittedly, I don’t really live like a “healthy” lifestyle. I love junk food. And before you lecture me on all the things that’s wrong about my eating habits, I have one word for you. #YOLOΒ πŸ˜‚

The downside of eating whatever I want (junk food mostly 😁), is that I have had bad skin. Like seriously. It was so bad that I couldn’t even hide it with make up.

THE HORROR!😭

Can you just imagine not being able to put on make up because your break out was that bad?! I lived through it. I’m glad I’ve left that in the past, and it’s because I discovered 3 things.

3 Things That Improved My Skin:

  1. If you stick to a skin care routine, your skin will be grateful. Wash, Tone, Moisturize.
  2. Sleep/Rest. Dull skin can be caused by your body asking you that you’re in dire need of a much needed rest, it’s called “beauty rest” for a reason, so get those naps in during the day or sleep early. Trust me, your skin will thank you.
  3. Hydrate. Drink lots of water throughout the day and at night, drink a glass of Athena. Why? Beauty Milk.

Of course my bad skin wasn’t just because I had an unhealthy diet, it’s also because I was hormonal at times, I was stressed out or I had my period, one thing was for sure, I wasn’t getting the necessary vitamins that I should be getting from food and drinks that I take in during the day. It just wasn’t enough.

Athena
She’s got that glass on her face, hinting at how great your skin can look? Perhaps.πŸ€”

So when I came across Athena, and it had the words “Beauty” and milk in it, I bought myself a box to try it out. It came in 2 flavors, Milk and Choco, I have horror stories of other flavored milk back when I was pregnant with Lucas, so I chose Milk and steered clear of the Choco flavored ones, so I don’t know how it tastes like, but I will try that one day, I just need to build up some courage.πŸ˜‚

Apparently, Athena, not only has high-calcium content, which I need because I’m in my 30’s and that’s when I supposedly need more calcium so I don’t suffer osteoporosis when I get older, and it also has Vitamins D, K, Magnesium and Phosphorous, which are also necessary in maintaining strong bones. I mean, duh, it Β is MILK. Of course it’s going to make your bones healthier. I have a grandma who died of bone cancer, so yes, this is good to know.

Here’s the kicker though, and this is why it’s known as a “beauty milk”. It’s a source of anti-oxidants such as Vitamins A, E, which you know is responsible for making your skin glow, and Zinc, which helps to keep your skin healthy and promotes optimum immune function, which I believe translates to, goodbye breakouts. True enough, for me, it worked.

If you follow me on Instagram, and look back at my old photos, you’ll clearly see how my skin dramatically improved in just 3 months, and I don’t use photoshop or any editing apps because I’m challenged in that area and cannot for the life of me figure it out. It figures, I can figure out how to code a website, but I cannot figure out photoshop.πŸ˜‚

So, if that’s not enough to convince you to try it out, it’s also Low-fat.😁

You don’t have to take my word for it, but you know me, I only blog about products that I love and have actually tried myself, and I’m telling you, Athena is amazing.

I have a niece named Athena and she’s equally amazing. No she doesn’t read my blog, I don’t think she’s allowed cause she’s a minor. Haha!πŸ˜‹

I’m not saying this will solve all your acne or bad skin problems, okay? I’m just saying, I believe that it’s one of the things that contributed to me having better skin today. It worked for me, so it can be argued that it’s psychological, I don’t care, I’m going to keep buying it, because it also tastes amazing and it helps me calm down and ready for bed time, every night.😊

Have you tried Athena? How did you find it? Tell me about it!

Hit me baby, one more time!
